Hello there,

Welcome to field notes, where I will be sharing studio updates, travel stories, seasonal notes, an occasional ranger rambling, and I likely won’t be able to resist posting a favorite recipe.

I am excited to start this next chapter in my creative journey. Art has always been part of my life, but in the background, a bit of an afterthought. No more! 2026 has been a year of personal change, and I decided to put art at the center, give it my all, and trust the process. For the next six months, I will be traveling, studying art, and slowing down and enjoying life while on creative sabbatical. I expect my work to evolve during this time, and plan to release my first collection in spring of 2027.

After many years working in public service, I am so excited to have a corner of the internet that is mine, to share my perspective, things I love, and celebrate this good life with you.

There is a phrase that has stuck with me since my time spent in Humboldt County, introduced to me by my best friend. You’ll see “Don’t forget the magic!” repeated on this site. To me, it is a reminder to not forget the good things in the world. Easier said than done, I know. Still, I hope you always find magic in your life, and I hope my work is a reminder to look for it.
